Bill Signs makes his Guinness Record breaking Friendship Flight around the world.
Tokyo Town - Swedish Auto expands to also provide independent auto service for Honda / Acura under the brand "Tokyo Town" as well as Toyota / Lexus using the brand "Tokyo Town Service"
As a young man the owner, Mr. Bill Signs, worked as a flight instructor and also flew cargo aircraft while maintaining Volvos in his spare time. His neighbors and friends would bring their cars to him for service. Which led to him buying and repairing Volvos for resale to help finance his aviation dreams. Then in 1983 Bill had taken his Volvo to a local dealership to have a warranty recall performed. He was very disappointed with the quality of the service he received. He promptly took his concerns about the quality of the service to the manager of the dealership. However, instead of offering a solution, the manager challenged Bill to open his own shop, if he could do a better job.
As a result Tokyo Town - Swedish Auto was born.
Bill is still flying airplanes today and holds a Guinness World Record for flying a single engine airplane around the world to all seven continents in 50 days.
